About me

Hi, my name is Emily Carding, and I am an artist and author, and the creator of the Transparent Tarot. 'The Transparent Tarot' is completely unique, and unlike any other product available on the market. Many make this claim, I know, but this time its really true! Printed on transparent plastic, the cards are designed to be read in overlapping layers. This means that a three card spread can be read as one image,or for a more advanced or in depth reading, for example a Celtic Cross, three or four cards can be placed in each position without confusion. This adds an enormous amount of clarity to any reading, and a whole new dimension to Tarot- literally! Each card of the 78 card deck is designed so that it will interrelate in this way with any other combination of cards, up to about four or five. This produces some incredible images, and an almost infinite number of combinations, especially when you include reversals. The unique nature of this deck also means that you can flip the cards to create further combinations. The major arcana are de-personified distilled representations of universal forces. I use the simplest and most evocative single image to sum up the meaning of each card, in order that it combines with other images without confusion. The minor arcana are simplified human silhouettes, based upon the Rider-Waite structure. Although they seem spartan as individual images, they are not designed to be read this way. When combined with other cards, they create a stunning and highly evocative effect. For beginners, it has an easy to follow symbolic structure and a wonderful way of learning how the different combinations of cards work within a reading. It can be read intuitively with ease, or with just as much ease from a book, for those who prefer. The meanings of all the cards are the standard traditional meanings. For advanced readers or students, it opens a door to a completely new way of reading the cards, and can be seen as an evolutionary step forward, (for it is certain that tarot is evolving). For collectors, it is unlike anything else available, and is sure to become a must have for any tarot and oracle collection! It also has possibilities for creative brainstorming, meditation and therapy-the possibilities for application are just as infinite as the possibilities of combined images!
