About me

Ah, about myself. Give me a minute.... mmh... how best to describe me? Ok, well, I like going out, going the cinema, meeting friends - but then who doesn't? I work in the IT sector - which is when people roll their eyes and think "Oh my God, a geek". I also like going out to restaurants - but by saying so do you have the mental picture of a fat geek now? Perhaps, one way to describe me is to describe the music I listen to. Besides the perhaps more regular pop and rock there is sprinkling of classic and with a dash of Jazz in my music collection, just enough to make me appear sophisticated. And then, yes, there is Hard Rock - which is a bit expected of me since I got a motorbike, not one of those fast ones, no, a Goldwing, which if this doesn't mean anything to you imagine basically an armchair on wheels. Very comfortable, even though it broke down awhile back and I need to have it repaired. I also do have quite a few CDs with "international" music like Argentinian tangos from the 1930's, contemporary Fado from Portugal or Hungarian and Arabic music. Sam Cooke and oldies like The Supremes are always good to listen to, as are ballads from Mariah Carey - which when mentioning her is when I loose all credibility with my friends. No, actually not quite, that is best achieved when people see my Cliff Richard records or some obscure 80's Europop band such as "Sailor". I can hardly salvage my reputation by then pointing to French chansonniers like Jacques Brel or modern poets like Tom Waits.
