- I'm all in favour of recycling. I would be glad to use recycled ink cartridges in my printer (and on my old Epson Stylus frequently did as I refilled the cartridges myself), but the cartridge we have at the moment is totally useless and produces results like this, and - before anyone asks - it started bad with very muddy colours, but we left it... more

- Last July, I received a leaflet through my door telling me that 'Collection Day is Thursday', for the "Third World Clothing Collection". Today I am told that the key date is Friday but due to the recession, the old clothing of Walthamstow (Ladies, Gents and Children's) is 'urgently needed' closer to home, by Europe Suppliers Ltd. (Tel... more

- Are you still with me ? i'm making such a song and dance about this aren't I ? *chuckles* Had a shower and washed hair ... about to get dressed and then nip down to the shop. Take out smelly rubbish on the way out and bag of things to be recycled as the bottle bank is next to the shop :) Smart. Efficient. Good logistics there, Mira ;) Need... more

- Did my monthly online shop with Tesco for a change. So ordered Friday morning for delivery Saturday between 3-5pm. Clicked the box not to have bags and earned 8 green points, whatever that means. Saturday came and at 3.09pm my phone rang. It was the Tesco delivery guy. He asked me where in Ellesmere Port was xxxxxxx Street as he couldn't find it... more

- That's the colour of my face. It is a bright, shiny scarlet red from bending down and picking up paper that the computer has flung across the room. It is supposed to be a nice, environmentally-friendly green. But the computer objects to recycled paper. It jams, flings, whinges and doesn't print unless you feed in a sheet at a time. Just... more

- There’s a new buzzword, or term that is being bounded around - the digital divide. This term is being used by the government and agencies to describe the gap between those people with effective access to digital and information technology, and those without access to it. It includes the imbalances in physical access to technology as well as the... more

- DAY 16 Today I have just bought food. We took our recycling to the collection point in town today; someone had dumped what looked like their carboot leftovers, there was a book on tropical fish; a bit soggy, but still good, my bf is drying it out, he is really pleased with it! I found a plant pot and matching base, which is perfect for my... more

- Day 5 Bought a train ticket and postage (post swap book). Fairtrade choc for BFs birthday. Day 6 Bought my BF (for birthday) a cycling drinks bottle, as old one leaks and will be recycled. I bought myself some solid conditioner from Lush (essential toiletries are allowed, but not bubble bath, facials etc) I have put it in a soap dish and now... more

- We recently competed in the government backed Spark competition. As part of the application process senior managers at our organisation had to pitch a panel of experts with our business case. As part of that we made a video. Here it is... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWbcKh4TCVU We were awarded a grant and paired with corporate partner, BT... more

- RECHARGE YOUR BATTERIES

- Swap your digital clock radio (mains powered, with a power hungry display) for a battery powered clock that lights up only when you press the button and runs on rechargeable batteries; this can be a bit of a challenge as rechargeable batteries have a slightly lower voltage than standard batteries and if the clock has a voltage detector in it, it... more
