- Some things in life could be argued to defy explanation. The ability of a duck to know which direction south is. The tenacious determination of a chicken without a head to run around moments before death. And perhaps most of all, the compellingly self-destructive downward spiral that is M Night Shamayalan’s career. Having heard Mark Kermode... more

- I love vampire films, always have. Right from way back when, watching the old hammer horror films running on BBC2 in the school holiday afternoons, there’s always been something about these creatures that can’t ever see daylight with their addiction to life-giving blood which has stirred something deep inside me. And whether we make them... more

- This is what every disaster / monster movie should be. They’ve really cottoned onto something here: the idea that a monster movie could have a greater impact when taken away from the grander scale and made more personal, more relevant to the individual. And nothing says this better than a first person point of view. That’s the gimmick – a... more

- I just finished watching this film and I was deeply moved by it. I must say I am easily moved, but this was a good film and the two leads, Edward Norton and Naomi Watts were highly impressive. It wasn't as Hollywood-esque as the original film starring Greta Garbo was, but was more realistic and grand in cinematography. This film just reminds me... more

- Last night my OH did not get much sleep (No and it's not due to me, you dirty lot). The neighbours were pumping away 'til about 2am. At least, their music was. They were having a party. And even with the windows shut and double glazed, she could still hear it. Me, on the other hand, had the gall to sleep through it! This morning, I got up... more

- Great plan last night - Ben&Jerry's cookie dough ice cream, flapjack, pjs, bed, cat, laptop, download chickflick. I thought I'd give P.S. I Love You a try seeing as I read an interview with the author recently and she's around the same age as me. Big Mistake.About 5 minutes into the sodding thing I started blubbing, and pretty much... more

- I was watching this last night despite being pretty tired at that time. Very similar to the remake of Red Dragon (starring Ralph Fiennes, Edward Norton and Anthony Hopkins) although I bet they copied this original. It was good still although I was not keen on some of the music and wish I remember the song when Dollarhyde tries to kill Reba! The... more

- Untraceable - 2008

- There was quite a bit of hype regarding Untraceable. Many people were dissapointed by the film, me included. The idea wasn't bad, however it isn't entirely new, and can easily be compared with Saw. Lots have people have said that the film is highly similar to an episode of the tv show, Millenium, named "Mikado." The episode comprises of a serial... more
