  • At Birmingham University one of the old halls of residence was knocked down and replaced with a rather impressive new residence which will house over 800 students each year from this September onwards.   • Tonight is the big event I run at work other than the stuff during welcome week. It's the Guild Awards. Basically its the oscars for student groups in the guild. Lots of fun for them. A little stressful for me. I love it really... Will hopefully post photos tomorrow. more

  • Wow. I did feel the tremors last night in bed. Frightening stuff. Living on the 15th floor and in the block I live in I thought either: 1) Something's crashed into the building. 2) Someone's finally blown up the building. Turns out it's only a 5.2 earthquake. Erika, not her real name, who I work with thought that aliens had come to take her away. more
