Description

Samuel Taylor Colerdidge, the poet responsible for Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Kubla Khan and Christabel. I wrote my last english literature paper on those works, reading Coleridge's biography in order to interpret his meaning. When I had finished I realised that deep and critical analysis of any art-form leads it to become meaningless and unoriginal. We can dissect his works and explain them by reference to the events of his life, but then we have no room left for the beauty and aesthetic appeal. Hence I think art is an area one should not try to analyse lest we render it pointless.
